Liz Hoover

Outreach Coordinator

Liz, a San Diego native had an impression from a young age that she was made for more than what she had seen. The moment she met Jesus was the moment she realized He was the more she had been seeking. After experiencing healing through prayer for an undefinable injury in College, Liz’s life turned upside down and started to head in a completely new direction. The stories, traditions, and things she had heard about God had become a reality that she wanted to dive deeper into. A switch of her major to Behavioral Science, pursuit of new community, and leaving her sports team to invest in church all led to a new life trajectory.

After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science with an emphasis in Psychology, Liz went on to pursue a career in camp ministry (this was never in her playbook, but God called her there, so off she went!). It was there that she learned God is fun, adventurous, and fierce over destinies. After serving for two years, Liz again felt the impression that she was made for more. Shortly after this impression, God put it on her heart to pursue ministry school. It took some wrestling but she chose to take a risk trusting God is who He says He is, and off she went to Bethel Ministry school.

After completing three years of Ministry school, Liz felt led to move back to San Diego in the fall of 2024 and has been seeking God’s heart for her time here ever since. She now serves as the Outreach Coordinator for HLA, as well as a fitness coach for a local gym. The consistent theme in her life has been seeing the redemptive and healing hand of God, as well as being used by God to pour into the lives of people; helping them step into the freedom He has for them.

Liz wants to help children and adults grasp the truth that true freedom is real and accessible in Christ. It doesn’t come from pursuing the things of the world and seeking it out on our own. It comes from laying our lives down in surrender to God and who He has created us to be. All people have purpose, and sometimes it takes one person believing in them for them to recognize this. She wants to be that one person for every student a part of HLA.
